Local Bakeries Business

Projected Profit:$400-$600 a month

This is an idea for a kid who wants to make some extra money, and has local bakeries in his/her town. Be sure to ask your parents before using this or any other of our ideas.

People love baked goods, but often don't get the time to bake them at their house, or go out to get them. That's where you come in! If you were to go to local bakeries, and offer to sell their goods for them, they will gladly accept your offer. The local bakeries will give you a great deal for these goods, simply because you will be buying a large amount every week. Who knows? Maybe someday you'll be called the 'bakery kid'

Here's what you have to do. Go to local bakeries, and offer to sell their goods. Ask them if you can have a discount, because you'd be promoting their product and getting them more business. Try to get as low as a price as possible, because the lower you buy the more money you make, and the more customers you will receive due to your prices.

Let's say you were to buy bread, cinnimon rolls, or other treats for $3. If you were to go out and sell these treats for a higher price such as $5-$6, that's where the profits come in. Families wouldn't only buy just 1 either, they would buy your delicious treats and possibly a loaf of bread.

If you could sell 50 treats/loafs a week for $5-$6 each (which would be easy to do in your neighborhood), you would make $100-$150 a week. That's $400-$600 a month, just for reselling food that local bakeries would sell to you!

Pocket Bike Track

This is an idea for an entrepreneur who wants to build a successful and fun business.

You can find a go-cart track anywhere, but pocket bike tracks are especially rare. If you were to set up a pocket bike track in a great location such as a mall parking lot or other shopping center, you could make amazing profits, and have a lot of fun.

What You Need

  • 4-8   R32 Interceptor 110cc bikes (as low as $549 each at USA pocket bikes). Some other great models are the X-18, the X-19, and the X-22. Pocket bikes sit between 2.5ft - 3 ft tall, so they're not uncomfortable to ride but are actually quite fun.
  • Chain-link fence panels and possibly hay bales to make the pocket bike track. If your riders wreck, they'll slide into the hay.
  • Pads, helmets, and other gear for protection.
  • Liability waiver form.
  • Checker Flags
  • Posters and Decorations
  • Business Supplies and filing cabinets for insurance waivers.
  • Renting Space
  • You might want to check into buying insurance for your pocket bike track.
  • $10 per race per person, winner moves to the next race. That's a $70 profit per race.
If you were to set up your pocket bike track from Friday-Saturday, you would be bringing in $7000 a weekend or $28,000 a month for your pocket bike track

Nightcare

Projected Profit:$2160-$3000 per month

This is an idea for a mom who needs a little extra cash.

There are a lot of daycares out there, but it's really hard to find nightcare. Since you will generally be home at night, it's a great idea for you to start up a business. If parents work through the night, or have to leave on vacation or a business trip, they can drop their kids off at your house for night care.

You would have to get your house approved for nightcare, but after that the profits are all yours. If you were to provide nightcare for 5 kids a night, and each kid stayed from roughly 8pm to 8 am, you would be making $180-$300 per night. You could provide nightcare for 3 days a week (12 days a month) and be making $2160-$3600 a month minus food costs and supplies costs.

The Hot Dog Stand at Yard Sales

This is an idea for kids who want to make a little extra money. Make sure you ask your parents before starting this idea.

If your parents or somebody who lives in your neighborhood runs a yard sell, you can consider running the hot dog stand with drinks to sell to people. You would cook the hot dogs on a grill, then sell them to people for profit.

The cost of hot dogs depends on the area, but you would generally charge about $0.50 more than the hot dog costs. The hot dog stand would have to be clean, and you would have to provide either wrapping or paper plates. Buy cups for drinks, or else sell soda cans at the hot dog stand.

Let's say that you were to make $0.50 profit from each hot dog, and $0.25 profit from soda. If you sold 100 hot dogs and 50 soda pops, you would make $62.50 per yard sale.

Running A Vending Machine Business

Projected Profit:$31,200-$46,800 per year

This is an idea for a beginning entrepreneur who wants to start a profitable business.

You see vending machines everywhere, but you never really think about how much money you can actually be making from a vending machine business.

To start up a vending machine business, you need at least $1000-$3000 to buy a new vending machine, or $500-$1500 to buy a used business. You also need to find a prime location where there will be a lot of people. Schools, colleges, malls, shopping centers, public places, swimming pools, etc.

Profits from a vending machine business vary from the size of the machine and where you put it. Your vending machine should hold 45 different selections, and have at least 10-20 of each selection in stock. That single machine will make between $5200-$7800 a year in pure profit.

If you were to invest in 6 machines for a vending machine business, it would cost you about $9000 ($1500 per machine). The profits you would make though would pay for those machines in less than a year. Every year, your annual income from those 6 machines would be $31,200-$46,800. It would be your responsibility to keep the machine stocked, and check out the price for rental space.

Ironing Business

Projected Profit: $1000 a month

This is an idea for a mom who wants to make extra money to support her family.

An ironing business would be a great idea, simply because people don't like ironing shirts. You need an ironing board, a sprayer, and some starch for an optional embellishment.

You would advertise your ironing business online, at local supermarkets, to your friends, at local colleges, and posting up papers on telephone poles. Leave your name and phone number, as well as your address so people can call you and drop off their clothes.

You can charge a certain amount per ironing, such as $0.50 per shirt or per pants. At that price, people would drop off loads of their clothes, and you would have them out and ready for them by the end of the day, or the next business day.

Let's say that you iron 50 pants and 50 shirts at $0.50 each. After doing this day after day, you would get better and faster at it, and it would take less time. If you did this 20 days a month, you would make $1000 per month just working part time hours for your ironing business.

Cleaning Contracts

Projected Profit:$3000-$6000 per month

This is an idea for everybody who wants to try it out.

Getting cleaning contracts is a great way to make money. The best part about cleaning contracts are that the business puts you in charge of the cleaning. What this means is that you are pretty much your own boss.

Cleaning contracts are contracts you make with a business that says that you will keep their building clean for a certain amount of money. Usually they pay you either bi-weekly or monthly. What you are going to do is obtain the cleaning contract, then pay other people to clean the building. That way you're making money by simply managing other people.

For example, you can go to a small office building and offer contract cleaning for $2000 a month. Then hire somebody to clean it for $1000-$1500 a month, and you would make $500-$1000 in profit. The person you hire would do all the cleaning, and all you would have to do is make sure they are doing their job correctly. It's an easy job that you can do straight from your house.

Usually cleaning contracts are easy to find, and the person that cleans does it during the night time. the amount you charge would depend entirely on the size of the building. If you have large buildings, you can charge a higher amount, and hire a few more people to get the job done.

Go to a local businesses, and offer certain amounts for the cleaning contracts. If they tell you that they already have a cleaning contract with somebody else, then offer them $500 less than they already pay. That way you can get the contract, and the business will appreciate your business.

Let's say that you have 6 cleaning contracts, and you make $500-$1000 each contract. You would simply manage the employees, and be making $3000-$6000 a month.

Repairing Bikes

This is an idea for a kid who know or wants to know about repairing bikes. Be sure to ask for your parents permission before using this idea.

People use their bikes a lot, so when they break it can really mess their day up. Some people even rely on their bicycles on transportation, so it's a real pain in the butt when they go out. Repairing bikes can be big business if you know how to do it right.

If repairing bikes is a subject that you don't know much about, look online and read up on it. You'd be amazed about how much information you can get on fixing and repairing bikes. You'll want to go to a search engine such as google and type in something along the lines of "repairing bikes how to".

Once you feel you know enough about repairing bikes, then go to the store and buy some supplies. Some great supplies to buy would be Fix a Flat, flat tire kits, WD-40, tire linings, tire tubes, nuts, bolts, and a few wrenches if your dad or mom doesn't have any.

To start your business repairing bikes, you would first tell your friends. Tell them that you know about repairing bikes, and can do it for a fee. Tell them to tell their friends, and let the information spread by word. You can also tell your neighbors the same thing, and ask them to spread the word too! Making flyers would work well too, but only if they look well done. Ask your mom or dad to help you make them on the computer, and post it at local supermarkets and on poles. It's good to mention that the cost of repairing bikes depends on what's wrong with the bike. The amount of time that you advertise will directly affect how many customers you get.

Once people begin to call, set up a time for them to drop of their bike and begin working on it. The amount you charge on bike repairing depends on how long the bike repair will take, and how much money you have to spend on supplies. It's good to have quite a few flat tire kits, because a lot of the bikes that come in will be simply because of flat tires. If you try hard enough, you can really make bank with this business.

Renting Out to Pay for your 'Toys'

This is an idea for an entrepreneur who wants to buy fun 'toys' and let someone else pay for them by renting out.

If you've ever wanted a toy but couldn't justify paying lots of money for it, then consider renting out the toy to pay for it. By renting out your 4 wheeler, dirt bike, trials bike, flatbed, hydraulic dump trailer, camper, etc. you can pay it off in possibly a year without any money out of your pocket.

The concept of renting something out is simple. All you have to do is put ads in the paper, put ads online (such as ksl or craigslist), and put ads on local bulletin boards. People will see the ads, and call you if they're interested. Once you have a lot of ads posted, renting your 'toy' out will be a piece of cake. After a while, you'll be getting calls every day.

Once you have paid off your 'toy', you should consider renting out another one. You can make a full profit on the first one you bought, and be paying off the second one in half the time. You could repeat this process until you have a great renting out business going in no time. For example, let's say you were renting out a 4 wheeler. The purchase price would depend on the make/model, and the area you live in. If you were renting out this 4 wheeler four times a month for $75 a day with a minimum of 2 days, you would be bringing in $7200 a year. After paying off the 4 wheeler, that's an extra $600 a month by renting out your toy!

Let's look at another example. By renting out a flatbed trailer, you could be making a lot of money. The flatbed trailer would have to be capable of hauling competition vehicles such as rock crawlers, race cars, etc. The purchase for flatbed trailers also depend on the area, but by renting it out you'll make the investment back in no time. If you were to buy a used flatbed trailer, the profits you would make would be phenomenal. Just make sure you buy one in good condition, because you don't want it to break before you've paid for it. If you were renting out the 4 wheeler 4 times a month for 2 days at $65, you would make $6250 in a year.

One last example, let's say you were renting out a camper. You would want to buy a new camper, because the newer it is the more people will want to rent it. Just like before, you would rent out the camper 4 times a month for 2 days each time. At $150 a day, you would be bringing in $14,400 a year just for renting out the camper a few times a month.

As you can see renting out your toy can be not only a good way to get something you want, but also be a great way to start a business. You may want to check out insurance rates before you invest into this idea.

Making Money as an Advertiser

Projected Profit: Up to $2000/month

This is an idea for a mom who wants to possibly make a full income driving a vehicle around

Businesses are always looking for different ways to advertise. Some use billboards, some use newspapers and other texts, and some use the internet. However, the downside to all of these methods are that they aren't mobile. If you were to wrap your car in a business advertisement, the company would pay you big bucks just to drive.

To get started, you must go around to local businesses and offer to advertise using your vehicle. Explain to them the benefits of mobility advertising, and suggest an estimated payment for the services. For wealthy businesses doing well, you can ask for higher amounts such as $2000 a month.

If you can't find local businesses that will accept your offer, do some internet advertising. Visit business forums, marketing forums, and social networking sites. These are surely great sites to do your own advertising. They are free, and will get you great amounts of business.

Once you find a company willing to go through with the deal, then go to a shop who will wrap your car. If the company does not provide a design to put on the car, then have the wrapping company design one and put it on. Send the costs directly to the company you're advertising, and start your driving.

The company will want you to drive around a lot, and even might require you to sign a contract. Since the company will be paying for the fuel costs, you should probably drive around quite a bit. Go to local stores such as WalMart, and drive on the freeway often. City driving also does great, and be sure to park your vehicle in populous places.

Making Money as a pet caretaker helping animals

Projected Profit: $600 a month

This is an idea for a kid who likes helping animals and wants to make some extra money. Be sure to ask your parents before starting this or any other ideas.

Many people out there love helping animals. It's a fun and rewarding job that you can make a lot of money from if you do it right. What you have to do is go around your neighborhood, and tell your neighbors you can watch their animals if they go on vacation, or leave somewhere. Be sure to mention you love helping animals, and that you are very responsible.

Hand out flyers, and make sure you advertise well. Tell your friends to spread the word, and hand out business cards to people you know. On these business cards, write a catchy phrase that goes with your business such as, "helping animals while watching them". Your phrase should catch the customers eyes, and get them to trust you. Put your phone number on the card, and watch as the customers roll in.

Once the customers call, tell them you charge them $1 an hour. That adds up to $24 a day, but don't mention that little secret to your customers, as they may think the price is too steep. Animal-proof your house, not letting any of the animals wander outside without a leash. Be sure to take good care of the animals, follow feeding schedules, and take the animals on walks.

Helping animals cope with their owners leaving can be the tough part. Often animals can become depressed, and not want to do anything. Help the animals by playing with them, and showing them that you can make this fun for them!

If you were to watch only 5 animals for only 5 days, you would make $600 a month.

Scary Maze

Projected Profit: $98,200-$155,200

The Scary Maze idea is for an entrepreneur who wants a big return for a smaller investment.

A scary maze and other thrilling adventures are big business, especially during mid-September and early November. A Scary Maze is rare, which makes it a very popular attraction.

What Your Scary Maze Will Need

  • Big Wooden Wire Reels: You can get those for free if you look in the right places
  • Pallets: These can also be found for free
  • Old Cars: A great junkie car can be priced anywhere from free to $100. Leave this out in the front of your scary maze so people can get a jump while waiting in line. Have somebody pop out and give them the suprise of their life.
  • Wood Logs: You can find these for free and spread them around the park.
  • Hay Grass Bales: $3 a piece (depending on location). You may use hay bales as a guide through the scary maze, or use ropes. You can also use these as building blocks, and have an employee pop out and scare people.
  • Strobe Lights: Put these wherever you want the scary maze to be the scariest. With strobe lights, your employees can pop out without being seen beforehand and scare your customers. Be sure to post a sign about strobe lights warning people with epilepsy about the danger.
  • Ropes to keep people in the area. You don't want people leaving the scary maze because if somebody gets hurt or lost, there may be a liability issue.
  • Employees ($6-$10 an hour): The number of employees depend upon how big your scary maze is.
  • Scary Masks: Have your employees wear these. The glow in the dark masks can also be used as decoration to make your customers think they are surrounded by people.
  • Chainless Chainsaws: You want these at the end of the maze. This will be the highlight of your maze that makes people want to come back.
  • Clown Suits / Other Costumes: A lot of people are afraid of clowns, so clown costumes are a great choice. You can even give the chainless chainsaw to the clowns for an extra scare. As for other costumes, it's left to your imagination.
  • Radio: Have a radio be playing eery music at the scariest part of your maze, or in open areas that have a void that needs to be filled.
  • Manikins: These can add a horrific twist to your scary maze, especially if used in strobe light rooms.
  • Fake Blood: It wouldn't be a scary without fake blood. You can spread it on your manikins, employees, etc. Let your imagination go wild.
  • Scary Signs: You can place scary signs at the beginning, end, and throughout the scary maze to guide them where to go.
  • Fog Machine: Use this where you want visibility to be lowered. A great place to put this is in the graveyard.
  • Tombs: A graveyard is a great opportunity to take up some unnecissary space. You can have employees pop out and scare people from tombs.
  • Skeletons: It wouldn't be scary without skeletons either. Skeletons are a classic Halloween prop, and they're gonna add a great flavor to your maze.
  • Witches: These can either be employees in costumes, or they can be hooked to a string and fall from a tree.
  • Shacks: A few shacks throughout the maze will fill up space, and give opportunity to scare more people as they enter.
  • In the front, a bonfire and concessions to sell hot beverages and food

Use your imagination and find more ideas that would apply to your town.

If you were to have 20 employees working an average of 5 hours a day at $6 an hour for 38 days (2009 calendar), that would cost $22,800. You would spend an additional $50,000(estimation) for the rented field to put the scary maze, props, and materials you need.

Charging $15-$20 per person, and average 300 people per night for 38 days, it would be $171,000-$228,000 in entrance fee sales. That isn't counting the concessions, beverage, and glow stick sales. So total profits for your scary maze will be $98,200-$155,200

Sewing Old to Make New

This is an idea for a stay-at-home mom who is skilled at sewing and has quite a bit of old fabric laying around.

Sewing old fabric to make something new can be a very inexpensive and profitable venture. By sewing old fabrics, you are dramatically cutting the cost of materials needed, and maximizing your profits. Plus, vintage pants, quilts, shirts, hats, shoes, etc are back in style. You don't have to worry about your projects not being able to sell.

Because you are sewing old, you can pick up your fabrics from yard sales, second-hand thift stores, and swap meets.

Great Vintage Sewing Ideas

  • Sewing old flowers on alligator clips to be placed on headbands and beanies for babies
  • Sewing old fabric to jeans so they have the 'patched-up' look
  • Sewing old materials to make a large quilt as a gift.
  • Sewing old fleece fabric to make booties for kids
  • Sewing old materials to make boots for adults
  • Sewing old wool to make warm winter sweaters or hats.
  • Sewing old cotton to make a comfortable scarf.
  • Sewing old leather to make vintage coats, pants, gloves, etc

As vintage is popular right now, you can sale these items almost anywhere. A great place to list them is online at sites such as Ebay, or Amazon.

Picking up Dog Dung

Projected Profit: $300-$600 a month

This idea is for a kid looking to make extra money doing a job around the neighborhood. Be sure to ask your parents permission before you use this idea.

If picking up dog dung is gross to you, then it's probably gross to a lot of other people too. Since people don't like to do it themselves, you can do it for them! There's a lot of money to be made doing this.

You can go to the store and buy a Poop Scooper, so you don't have to pick them all up by hand. It doesn't take long to go around someone's yard. You would go door to door, and ask your neighbors if you can pick up there dog dung for a small fee each week.

If you were to get 15 customers and charge them $5-$10 a week, you would be getting an extra $300-$600 a month. That's just for picking up dung! Make sure you wear protective gloves though.

Mall Day-Care Center

This is for an entrepreneur who has money to invest in a business.

Moms and Dads need time to themselves, especially when they are out at fun places. Those fun places can be malls, resturaunts, movie theatres, etc. When mom and dad want to go on a date, it's hard to find places that can take care of their children. If they could simply drop them off at a convenient daycare center, they would be able to have that special time alone.

This is what your business would be about. You rent a store in a mall, or somewhere popular. You childproof this place, hire employees, buy toys and dress-up clothes, and have a cash sregister that can swipe credit cards and debit cards. This store is going to be a place where parents can drop off their children for a while while they go on a date to dinner, shopping, a movie, etc.

Your employees must be nice, and preferrably older. It will be hard for parents to trust their precious children with teenagers. When the parents come in, introduce the facility, your employees, and the number of activities your children would be participating in. Once the parent has paid be sure to take their picture, and attach it to their child. That way you aren't giving away their child to somebody else.

Your facility must also be approved by a childcare safety inspector (check with your state), and you should have the parents sign an injury waiver so you aren't held responsible for anything. Depending on what you charge, this could be a booming business.

Making Money Teaching Cooking Lessons

Projected Profit: $600-$800 (minus ingredient expenses)

This idea is for a stay-at-home mom, who is skilled in cooking and has some extra time on her hands.

People want to learn to cook. Especially people who just got married, and moms who just had their first child. That's where you come in! You can teach cooking classes for a fee, to help people learn to cook.

When you first start, you find a recipe that is easy to make. Have everybody help prepare the food, putting emphasis on technique and giving tips. Be sure to compliment your customers, as well as give constructive critisism.

As for advertising, post advertisements at local stores, collages, bullitin boards, and online. Leave your name, number, and address. Once the customers call, set up a date and charge them the fee.

If you were to get 10 customers at $15-$20 per week (1 lesson a week), you would make $600-$800 dollars a month minus ingredient expenses.

Making Money as a Tutor

Projected Profit: $200-$400 per month

This is for a kid who wants to help people, and make some extra cash on the side. Be sure to ask a parent for permission.

Are you talented in a certain area (skateboarding, math, science, piano, acting, drums, guitar, singing, etc). People will pay you to teach them these things. All you have to do is tell people that you will tutor them, and post up signs around the neighboorhood and at public places (stores, parks, malls, bulletin boards). Leave your name and number, and soon enough people will start calling.

You can have the people pay you hourly ($5-$10/hr), or pay you per visit ($10-$15 per visit). You would prepare lessons, and have them learn at a rate that is suitable for them.

If you were to get 5 customers at 2 hrs per week, you would make $200-$400 in a month.

Making Money as a Beekeeper

This is an idea for an entrepreneur who wants a large return for some time and a small investement.

There's been quite a bit of buzz concerning bees in the past few years. Honey bees, which produce honey, are dying out due to what is being called Colonial Collapse Disorder (CCD). There are a number of theories  to what causes CCD, but the exact cause is unknown. Since bees pollinate a very large percentage of our crops, if they all die out it will cause problems.

Lucky for us entrepreneurs, this emergency can make us money, as well as help the out the world. If you were to be a beekeeper and manage beehives, the profits you would gain would be enormous. You can sell honeyand bees for extremely high prices compared to what they used to be.

What You Need

  • Hive Bodies
  • Frames
  • Bottom Board
  • Entrance Reducer
  • Hive Outer Cover
  • Hive Inner Cover
  • Feeder
  • Varroa Screen/Monitoring Tray
  • Hard Plastic Helmet
  • Round Tie-down Veil
  • Stainless Steel Smoker with Heat Shield
  • Hive Tool
  • Gloves
We won't get into the technicalities here, as they are tedious and would take a long time.

A buddy of mine is a beekeeper, and his income per year is $800,000. That's nowhere near the limit either. If you were to manage larger amounts of hives, you could be making more than that. Be sure to check your local beekeeping laws, as some places don't permit beekeeping.

Making Money Selling Online

This is idea for the stay-at-home mom who has a little extra time on her hands.

The internet selling industry is big. Many people make a great living off of it, and it's a wonderful way to make an income. So often it's hard to sell things locally, so people advertise their items online and customers from around the world buy.

The key to making money online is selling your item at a higher price than you bought it for. If you buy something for dirt cheap and sell it at a fair price, the profit you make from the sell could be enormous.

But the big question is: 'Where can I buy something for cheap, and sell it for more?'. It's simple! Go to thrift stores, yard sales, police auctions, newspaper ads, store sales, out of business blowouts, etc. One of the best places to buy things for cheap is a storage unit auction. If somebody rents the storage unit and fails to pay, then their possessions get sold at auctions to get the money back. Most everything sold is extraordinarily inexpensive.

Another awesome place to buy is online. You can find good deals for anything online. A lot of internet sellers buy online, then sell online for a higher price. Often sellers will ask for a low price because they need the money, and you can buy it at an insanely low price.

Where are you going to sell the product though? There's many websites on the internet that allow you to sell your product online. The most popular is Ebay (http://www.ebay.com). For quick payment you set up a Paypal account and people can effortlessly pay you online with their credit or debit card.

A few other great websites are Amazon (http://www.amazon.com) and Craigslist (http://www.craigslist.org).

Selling online can take a lot of work, but the effort you put into it will determine the amount you earn!

Making Money as a Valentines Delivery Person

Projected Profit: $150-$300

This idea is for a kid. Make sure to ask your parents permission before trying this or any other ideas.

As Valentines Day comes around, many people want to send secret admirer letters to somebody they fancy, but often can't find anybody up to it. This is where you come in! You'll take their letters, candies, cards, flowers, etc to the giftee, and charge anywhere from $10-$20 per person.

Tell your friends and family about it, and you'll see how fast it spreads. Ask some acquaintances if they know anybody who needs it done, and you can even hang up papers. If you were to get only 15 customers you'd make $150-$300 dollars, just for being a delivery boy. When it's love, people get desperate so you don't have to worry about finding customers!

Bed and Breakfast

Projected Profit:$1000-$4000/month

This is for the stay-at home mom living near a tourist attraction, and has a spare unused bedroom in the house.

Bed and Breakfast's are convinient in tourist towns, especially when all the hotels are booked. People are looking for a place to stay, and you're the one to provide it for them. The idea is simple: Open a room in your house to tourists looking for a place to stay. There's big money involved in this, because most likely the hotels are booked and you can charge a high price for your services.

Be sure to provide them with their own bathroom to wash up in, towels, soap, and of course breakfast in the morning. Provide great service, offering to carry their bags to their room, and telling them to call you if they need anything, and make a delicious breakfast in the morning. It may sound tedious, but when you make your customer feel at home, your bed and breakfast will become popular.

You're going to need to wash the sheets after every guest, and clean up after they have left. Make sure you put signs all through town advertising your bed and breakfast, and giving a phone number to call you. If a tourist sees this advertisement, they will call you!

Let's say that you took in 10 tourists a month. You would charge them $100-$400 for the night (which is reasonable for what you're offering). The profit behind that would be $1000-$4000 a month, just for taking in people a few times a month. It's a great way to make an income, and you may even be able to live off that!

Dodgeball Tournament

Projected Profit: $10,000 per tournament

This is for the entrepreneur looking for a small investment, and a large payout.

There's a lot of money to be made in sports tournaments. This area gives great ways to make a lot of money. One of those ways is hosting a tournament, namely a dodgeball tournament.

Things You Need
  • Trophy
  • Shirts for the winning teams
  • Location to play
  • Advertising contacts
  • Dodgeball equipment
  • $1000
Use the $1000 to buy the trophy, winning team's shirts, and equipment. Any extra can be used in advertising. The more advertising you do for this event, the more teams that will sign up. You can charge an entrance fee to the game, but keep the price low. As this is not a well known tournament, people won't come if the price is set too high.

Go around to local companies and see if they'll pay you for advertisements. Tell them you'll tie up a banner, announce their company, place their logo in a great spot, etc. You can also invite vendors to sell their product at these games. Charge a vendor $100-$400, depending on the expected number of visitors. ach team $300 dollars to sign up, and be sure to mention it's non-refundable. Also

Each team pays $300 to sign up, and be sure to mention it's non-refundable. You can expect 30-40 signups in a well-advertised tournament, so the payout would be around $10,000. You would have to pay for rental space, referees, and other costs but these will be easily covered by ticket sales, vendor sign-ups, and company advertisements. It won't make you rich, but you'll be wealthier!

Themed Parties (for teens)

Projected Profit: $300-$700/month (5 parties per month)

This is for the older teen looking to make some extra money. The startup cost for this idea would be around $50-$150.

Parents are always looking for fun entertainment for their children. Most would pay top dollar to see the excitement in their children's eyes. That's where you come in! You can make good money hosting themed dress up parties for children at their own house, or at a public park.

What You Need
  • At least 10-15 costumes that fit one theme. You can buy these at the store for $5-$10 each, or else make them at home. Some great costumes would be animals, prince/princess, pirates, ghouls and goblins, Barbies, Transformers, superheroes, etc.
  • Transportation to and from the customer's house or destination.
  • Gift Bags which consists of a couple of small items in each bag.
  • A well-made costume for yourself.
  • A Good Attitude
You would spend a small amount of money before each party on the gift bags. The total amount spent should be $10-$15. When you arrive at the house, you will have a schedule that you have called and discussed with the parents. Some good filler activities would be teaching a themed song/dance, picture taking, fun games, movie clips, etc. The extent of the party should last about an hour.

A good charge for each party would be $75-$150, to cover materials charges and your pay. You can either pocket the money, or buy costumes for more themed parties.

Child Transportation

Projected Profit: $800 a month

This is for the stay-at-home moms who have a suburban, van, or other multi-passenger vehicle.

Parents are busy people. They have work and errands to run. Their kids often lose opportunities for extra-curricular activities and programs because of the tight schedule. If these children could find transportation to their sports activities, after school programs, and other extra-curricular activities, it would save the parents a whole lot of time and disappointment.

That's where you come in. With your multi-passenger vehicle, you could transport the children for a fee (much like a taxi). There would be a fixed rate, and your customers would be consistant. You'd have to build trust with the parents though. Try starting with parents you know, then expand your business to others with advertising and word of mouth.

To get unaquainted parents to trust you, you're going to have to provide amazing references. Provide past customers, and trusted people that know you well. Provide a list of these numbers, with names, e-mail addresses, etc. That way the new customers aren't left with only a few options, and can get a widespread opinion about you and your services.

If you were to charge $10 a kid, 4 days a week, that's $160 a kid per month. Say you have 5 kids, that's $800 extra dollars a month.

Making Money with an at-home daycare.

This is ideal for the stay at home mom.

Needed Items
  • a house
  • diapers
  • treats
  • movies
  • fun and safe environment
  • toys
  • high stress tolerance
  • state certification
  • home safety inspection certificate

Projected Profit: Depends upon the demand, and your charge preferences. You can charge by hour, per day, per month, etc.

Making Money with an Indoor Surf and Skate Entertainment Plaza

Projected Profit: $80,000 per week (surf machines 50% capacity) plus food sales, shop rentals, skate park, fish pond, and skate shop profits.

This is for an entrepreneur who wants a big return for a big investment.

Suggested items

  • 2-Double Rider Surf Machines (2 riders per machine) [4000 square ft]
  • Indoor Skate Park next to the surf machines [4000 square ft]
  • Store-front boardwalk that can handle ten to twenty 10x10 bamboo hut stores. Those stores can be rented out to local vendors that sell clothes, sunglasses, shoes, food, skateboards, surf boards, souvenirs, etc.
  • Employees who can teach others how to skate

other suggestions

  • By the surf machines and skate park, set up a bistro to sell food.
  • Throughout the indoor park, put tables with bamboo umbrellas.
  • Build a 10x20 pond with sand at the bottom. Fill with water, and put fish, turtles, and frogs that kids can catch for a small price.
  • Fill the Whole park with sand, and fake palm trees (that look real). Put hammocks between some of the trees so people can lounge (hammocks will be considered the benches of the park).
  • Daily surf lessons and wake board lessons (weld a bar in front of the machine).
  • Provide a big anchor skate shop that provides 'try before you buy' demo boards.
  • Beach Volleyball on the sand.
  • Movie at the Beach.

1 surf machine at full capacity can bring in $80,000 a week. At 50% capacity, both machines will bring in $80000 a week. That doesn't include the bistro, the bamboo shopts, the skate park, and the fish pond.

As for the how to skate and how to surf lessons, you can either set up specific days (see example below), or provide how to skate and how to surf lessons every day. How to skate lessons are going to be the most popular, because more people want to learn how to skate depending on where you are. Also, depending on your employee's time allocation, you can also set up how to skate and how to surf private lessons.

Monday: How to Skate

Tuesday: How to Surf and How to Skate

Wednesday: Volleyball Lessons at Volleyball Court and How To Skate

Thursday: How to Surf or How to Skate

Friday: How to Skate and How to Boogie Board

Saturday: How to Skate and How to Wake Board (Surf Machine)

Sunday: Open Buffet and Lessons on How to Skate

You can also sell videos on how to skate at your skate shop so people can get comfortable before their lessons.

Overall investment: Research depending upon location

Making Money Raffling a Building, Home, Resturaunt, or store.

This is for an adult or entrepreneur who plans on selling your home, resturaunt, store, or building you own.

You need to advertise this big time. That would be in newspapers, locally, and especially online. Online is where most the tickets will come from. If you set up a paypal account, entrees will be able to pay with a credit card or debit card online. You're going to want to advertise this before the raffle, during the raffle, and after the raffle.

You can raffle tickets for $20 each (who wouldn't buy a house for $20). If you advertise well enough, you could easily sell 20,000 raffle tickets ($400,000 for you're house). On your website, say that if you don't sell 'x' number of raffle tickets, the money will be returned to the the buyers.

Making Money Cleaning Windows

Projected Profit: $450-$750 per month

This idea's for a kid who needs some extra spending cash. Be sure to get permission from your parents first.

What you need
  • Window Cleaner
  • Cloth or paper towels
  • Squeegie

Go around your local neighborhood and charge $30-$50 per home, depending on how many windows. Clean both inside windows and outside windows, and be sure to do a good job. That way, your customers will want you to come back. If you were to do 15 houses a month, your profits would be making $450-$750 a month.

Making Money Carpet Cleaning

Projected Profit: $900-$1500 (minus cleaning supplies and rental fee) per month

This is an idea for just about any adult wanting to make a good deal of profit.

Things you need
  • Carpet Cleaner
  • Carpet Cleaning Chemical
  • Transportation

You can rent a carpet cleaner at a local store for $14 a day. Carpet Cleaners can be bought online for $140-$300, and you can make the money back really quick, maximizing profits.

By charging $60-$100 per house, and cleaning 15 houses per month, you'd be making $900-$1500 (minus cleaning supplies and rental fee).

Making Money as a Wedding Planner

Projected Profit: $100,000+ a year (if skilled)
This is ideal for a lady who is skilled in planning activities.

Things you need
  • Phone
  • Internet for researching vendors

Wedding Planners charge anywhere from $1,000-$20,000. Good planners clear over $100,000 a year.

Making Money Walking Dogs

Projected Profit: $60,000 per year

This is an idea for anybody who wants it!

Go around your local neighborhood, offering money to walk people's dogs. You can advertise online, in the paper, or locally. The amount you charge depends on the demand. You may need to provide your own leash and adjustable collar.

For example, Kevin of Austin Dog Walkers walks 20-30 dogs a day, and his annual pre-taxed profit is $60,000 a year.

Making Money Cleaning

Projected Profit: $800-$1600 per month (4 hrs a day 5 days a week)

This idea is ideal for the stay-at-home mom who needs extra money for her family.

Get on the computer and makeadvertisement papers with your name, number, and rate ($10-$20/hour recommended). The best paper layout is one with rip tabs, so that 10 or more people can take your name and number home with them.

Things you Need
  • Cleaning Supplies (chemicals, paper towels, vaccuum, broom, duster, etc)
  • Transportation

If you were to use this 4 hours a day five days a week, you could make a profit of $800-$1600 a month.

Making Money with a Hot Dog Stand

This is an idea for any adult interested in making some money.

At a local ballpark, you can sell hotdogs and drinks for a profit.

Things you Need
  • Barbicue Grill
  • Easy-up Canopy
  • Table
  • Plates
  • Hot dogs
  • Buns
  • Condiments

Profits will vary depending on vendor prices.

Making Money Mowing Lawns

This is targeted for the kid, but anybody can make money doing this. Get permission from your parents before starting this idea.

If you have a lawn mower, this would work for you. Go around your local neighborhood asking people if you can mow their lawns. You should charge between $10-$20 each mow, depending on the size of the lawn. If you could mow 30 lawns a month, you would be making $300-$600 a month. If you do a good job, your customers will want you to come back next time.

Making Money with 'Whatever you Like'

Projected Profit: $800 per scooter (depends on what you're selling)

This is for anybody looking to get a little extra cash.

For instance buy an item you like, and research and find the very best deal for it. Buy online because that's where you're gonna find the best price. Then once you buy it, sell it in the paper for a higher price. After doing this 5-6 times, you would probably have enough money to buy 3-4 at a time, exponentially increasing your profit from there.

For example, let's say you wanted to sell scooters. You can find great deals if you go online. It would only cost you $500-$600 per scooter. You can sell those scooters locally for $1200 to $1300.

So you buy a scooter online for $500, and sell it locally for $1300. You can use this $1300 to buy 2 scooters. You can pocket the extra $300 and sell the two scooters for $2600. Then you can buy 4 more scooters, and pocket $600 dollars. You're increasing your income exponentially by following this model.

Old Fashion Root Beer Float Stand

Projected Profit: $4000-$6000 (minus money spent on ingredients)

This is recommended for the beginning entrepreneur.

This is a carnival/fair/fundrasing event that can make quite a bit of money. You would need an easy-up canopy, deep freezer, 5 gallon drink cooler, old wooden barrel to place over cooler so it looks old-fashioned, a couple of signs that say something along the lines of "old fashion root beer floats", and 24 oz cups.

Before the carnival starts, prepare for customers by putting ice cream in the cups with a lid so that you only have to put rootbeer in the cups. Home-made rootbeer is recommended (recipe:http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Homemade-Root-Beer/Detail.aspx

The price for an easy-up canopy is usually $180, a deep freezer is about $300, and eating utinsils and cups depend on the local charge. You can find a good priced 5 gallon drink cooler for $20. Ingredients including ice cream and homemade rootbeer would depend upon local vendors.

You can sell the 24 oz. root beer float for $4-$6 each. If you sold 1000 floats, you would get $4000-$6000 dollars per event minus how much you spent on ingredients.

Goldfish Pond

Projected Profit: $2,447.50-$2,947.50 per event

This is for any person who wants to have a little fun.

The ideal locations for this attraction would be carnivals, fairs, and fundraisers. Buy a plastic pool for around $20, and put Goldfish in it. Sell the Goldfish for $4 if you catch it, or a dollar more if they want to catch it in a net (5$ in total). If they want a Poloroid picture taken of them and their new goldfish, charge them an extra dollar ($5-$6).

For example, if you sell 500 goldfish, you would be making anywhere from $2500-$3000 dollars in one event. If you want to expand more, you can purchase a farm animal troph that looks like a metal pool. It's a little deeper, and you can put more fish in there.

Price of goldfish vary, but in quantities you can get them for 2-7 cents each. If you paid 4.5 cents each gold fish (average between 2 and 7 cents) the cost for all 500 goldfish would be $22.50. The pool would be $20, and the hose $10. You're total investment would be $52.50 to make $2500-$3000.

Scooter Rental Business

Projected Profit: $900 per scooter

This is an idea for the beginning entrepreneur.

Scooters are a fun way to strike up conversation on a blind date, or if a group of people just want to go have a blast around town. If the scooter is 49cc or under, the driver will not need a motorcycle endorsement (but they will need a driver's license).

Since scooters are dirt cheap, by renting them out you will pay back your investment and then some within weeks. So it doesn't cost too much, start with only 2 scooters. Rent them out at an hourly rate of $10 an hour, with a minimum of 5 hours per scooter. If the customer would like to take it for 24 hours and return it the next morning, they can pay an additional $10  ($60 in total.)

If you want, you can offer the driver insurance for an additional rate ($10-$20). For instance, if you had 2 scooters rented out 15 days of the month with the $60 charge, that would bring in $1,800 a month for 2 scooters.

If your business becomes more successful, you can rent out protection gear such as helmets, googles, gloves, jackets, pads, etc.

For advertisements, put stickers on the scooters. If there is a local university, go the the news board and advertise. You will find that most of your customers will be of college age.

Check into local insurance quotes.

The Baking Business

Profit varies upon your charging rate

This is for the stay at home mom.

If you're skilled in culinary arts, than this business would work for you. What you do is bake bread, treats, etc. Then go around to businesses once or twice a week and establish a schedule. The businesses that you bring the baked goods to will appreciate your business, concidering the fact that it is all home made. There's a many ladies here that use this business model, and is their only source of income. They are able to support themselves and their kids.

The Dollar Game

This idea is for anybody.

Start out with a dollar. Buy something from a yardsale, online, a thrift store, or any other inexpensive sources. Once you have this item, either sale it for more than a dollar, or trade it for something of a higher value (trading up). With the money you receive, buy something else. Repeat these steps until you are satisfied.

Essentially, the point of this game is to get more out of what you paid for. That's why you buy used or clearence items. The less you pay for the item, the more money you can get out of it.

When Adam used this technique, he ended up with a brand new rifle that cost $680. Clearly this technique works!

Sewing Alterations

This is for the stay-at-mom who knows how to sew.

She can start an clothing repair and alteration home business. This would require a little bit of advertising either by word of mouth, online, or local paper. Depending on your skill level and customer base, you can make $3,000 a month or more.

Garbage Boy

This is an idea for the kid who needs a little extra cash. Be sure to ask your parents for permission.

Go around your local neighborhood and ask people if you can take their garbage to the streets on garbage day every week for a fee of $10-$20 a month. If you had 30 customers, you'd be making $300-$600 monthly.

The Flea Market

Projected Profit: $240,000 per month (minus parking lot rental fee)

This is an idea for that entrepreneur who is skilled in organizing events.

The flea market will consist of a vacant parking lot, park, or public area. Propose to the person who owns the lot a monthly payout or percentage of the profit, in exchange for using the lot. For example, offer the owner $300 a weekend to use the lot. For the flea market, it's more cost-effective at first to offer a percentage because if you don't make as much as you planned, you don't lose any money.

You're going to want to advertise this event months in advance. In the advertisements for the flea market, be sure to include a price per booth. We suggest at first to charge $20 a booth until the flea market is well-known. Then you can raise prices to as much as $200 or more a booth (per weekend). If you had 300 booths renting at $200, that would be $60,000 in one weekend ( $240,000 in a month).

It's best to run your advertisements for the flea market in a local paper, public events, and online. The more people that know about the flea market, the more vendors will want to come.

This is a low cost, high payout event but can be time-consuming at first. It's recommended that after the flea market is up and running, you can hire employees to take over management responsibilities, and still be making a hefty profit.

However, the flea market will also be hard to work at first. Since you are most likely inexperienced in running a big event, you're likely going to want to have multiple partners. It's also great to have bilingual partners for the flea market, because many of your vendors won't speak english very well. Also, the flea market will attract many ethnic groups to due to the great prices and diverse products your vendors will provide.

On the other hand though, the flea market is well worth the work because of the great payout. The opportunity to make money is high, and though the flea market will be overwhelming at first, the profits will be amazing.
